Winter Skate 2022

Registration is open until 11:59pm, January 31, 2022.

It is not too late to get involved in the Caronport Skating Club, we offer half year lessons starting in January.

CanSkate is Skate Canada's learn-to-skate program for preschoolers and up. It is on Fridays from 4-4:45pm starting January 7 and ending in March (10 sessions in total) and includes warm-up and cool-down, circuit lessons and fun activities. Registration fees are $190 plus $75.00 for Skate Canada Membership.  Please select both prices when registering.

The program for CanSkate includes 3 lessons from a coach in 3 fundamental areas, Balance, Control and Agility.  The focus is on training a well rounded skater who has the skills to pursue any ice sport including hockey, ringette, speed skating and figure skating with the skills learned in the program. We follow a Long Term Athlete Development model to strive for success for our skaters not only during their skating season but into the future as well.

Equipment needed: hockey or figure skates with good support (avoid molded skates) and approved hockey helmet.  Winter gloves (not mittens) or hockey gloves are also required.

Masks will be required while in the common areas of the arena but can be removed once on the ice.

Skates are available for rent, please contact coach Kimber at [email protected] to arrange a time to try on skates if needed, or she will be available the first night of skating from 3-4pm for skates.  All rental skates must be cared for by wearing skate guards when not on the ice and they are only to be sharpened at The Sharpening Den in Moose Jaw.

StarSkate is for skaters who are working on their last levels of CanSkate or their Star levels and takes place Friday evening from 4:45-6:00pm.  They will receive group instruction in Freeskate, Dance and Skills and we will work towards their next STAR level test as well as competitions. Please select both the Skate Canada Membership fee of $75 and the StarSkate fee of $190.00 when registering.
